EMC stands for Electromagnetic Compatibility. The central questions here are whether your equipment causes electromagnetic interference in other equipment and whether your equipment is itself vulnerable to the effects of equipment in the area.
Producers are in principle able themselves to declare that their equipment meets the EMC standards. But if problems or claims arise that will have to be demonstrated on the basis of technical construction file. You can have this file evaluated by TÜV Rheinland. It is however more advisable to have us test your product against the relevant standards at an earlier stage. Those tests call for advanced equipment, which most manufacturers do not possess.
Notified Body
A Notified Body (Nobo) is an organisation accredited by the national government with expertise in the area of one or more European Directives. The task of the Nobo is to carry out certain parts of the conformity assessment procedures for the relevant directives on the manufacturer's behalf.
TÜV Rheinland EPS has been designated by the government as the Notified Body for EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Directive 2004/108/EC. Designated by the Dutch government as Notified Body pursuant to article 12 of the EMC Directive for the assessment of the conformity of products in accordance with the procedure set out in Annex II of that directive.
